the striking silhouette that is the Saratoga sofa, or the 'case' or 'cube' sofa, designed for Poltronova, in the early 1960s. All can be seen here is original.
The form is minimalistic and effortlessly cool - wooden with an acrylic lacquer, the base seems to float above the floor. The white cushions have an almost invisible windowpane repeat pattern, and each is in almost-new condition, which is remarkable considering all fabric is original. This is a piece that is collectible, desirable, and, luckily, comfortable.
